KBIF
Radio has been serving the Central San Joaquin Valley from Bakersfield to
Modesto since 1954. In the early 1980's KBIF started broadcasting 24
hours a day, 7 days a week. Our "Big Band" format in the 1950's changed
to a Christian format in the 1960's, which continues today. KBIF added
foreign language programming, including Spanish, Punjabi and Japanese, in
the mid-1980's. When the Valley's South East Asian population exploded in
the early 1990s, KBIF became the Valley's only radio station to feature
news, information and entertainment especially for Hmong, Lao, Korean and
Vietnamese listeners. We are one of the few radio stations that will
broker our time. No radio station in the Valley reflects the diversity of
local talk more than KBIF 900 AM, Fresno's version of the United Nations. |
